Chhattisgarh’s economy has grown at a tremendous pace in the last decade. CSIDC has contributed tremendously to the industrial and economic development and growth of Chhattisgarh, which is one of the youngest states in India.

Chhattisgarh is rapidly emerging as one of the most preferred destinations for investment in India. It has developed a strong infrastructure and its location gives it access to vital markets in North, Central and South India. CSIDC has played a pivotal role in driving establishment of industries in the state through its infrastructure projects and has undertaken several initiatives to improve land allotment procedures. CSIDC on behalf of the state government is committed to further strengthening industrial infrastructure by facilitating ease of doing business and providing complete support to all the industries from the initial operations stage until the final product is sold.

With a wide range of opportunities for industries, Chhattisgarh has something for everyone who wants to grow. With this in mind, we implore industries and investors to look at Chhattisgarh as “The destination for Investment and Growth”.

About CSIDC

Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC) is a Government of Chhattisgarh undertaking (registered under the Companies Act, 1956) under the administrative control of Department of Commerce & Industry. CSIDC is the nodal agency to facilitate and promote industrial development in the State.

CSIDC actively promotes and helps in industrial development in Chhattisgarh. CSIDC is primarily involved in establishment, maintenance and upgradation of industrial areas and projects, Land allotment and acquisition, financial aid assistance, infrastructure development for conducive growth of businesses etc. It also conceptualizes, conceives, plans, implements and maintains various ‘mega’ infrastructural facilities in the region.

Since it’s establishment, the CSIDC has played a pioneering role in the development of large industrial growth centres and areas (Urla, Siltara, Sirgitti and Tifra); three mega industrial areas (Bilaspur, Raigarh & Raipur) ; and the ongoing parks (Electronics Manufacturing Cluster and Mega Food Park).

CSIDC is also the nodal agency for implementing and monitoring the National Mission on Food Processing (NMFP) scheme, Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) as well as the State Mission Directorate for food processing in the State.

Other Functions and Activities

State Government is committed to encourage Small Scale Industries of the State. Accordingly Chhattisgarh Store Purchase Rule has been prepared to strengthen them wherein 65 items have been reserved for purchase in State Government Departments / Agencies / PSUs / Municipalities etc. from SSIs located in the State.

Objectives

  • Department of State Government can procure the high quality materials at reasonable prices within stipulated time period.
  • The supply of materials to State Government can be ensured at the competitive prices.
  • To encourage the Local Small Scale Industries.

Activities

  • Fixation of rates of items reserved in Store Purchase Rules through tender process.
  • Raw material (Wire Rod, Coal) distribution to Small Scale Industries of the State through Raw Material Depot & Coal Cell.
  • Marking & Testing of industrial products through Testing Lab.
  • Operation & management of Furniture Works Factory & Agriculture Implement Factory.

CSIDC has a Raw Material Depot at Bhilai which is getting the iron and steel material through branch Sales Office, Bhilai of SAIL on the basis of yearly allocation given by Ministry of Steel, Government of India and on the basis of demand of SSIs the material is lifted and distributed to SSIs which are listed at RMD, Bhilai.

CSIDC has a Coal Cell at Bilaspur which is distributing Coal of different grades to the listed SSI Units under Non Linkage Scheme. CSIDC signs yearly MOU with South Eastern Coal Fields Ltd. for a quantity of Raw Material which is allocated by Ministry of Coal, Government of India and then distributes this among the units which are listed with Directorate of Industries, GoC.

CSIDC operates Quality Marking & Testing Laboratory in Bhilai under its multi-activities services for Industrial promotion and development.

Quality Marking & Testing Laboratory at Bhilai is the only Chhattisgarh government’s  NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration Laboratories ) accredited Laboratory.

NABL Accreditation in Mechanical (T-2467 ) & Chemical (T-2466) Testing Discipline , as per International norms of  ISO/IEC-17025 which is having world wide acceptance .

The Quality Marking & Testing Laboratory (QMTL) Bhilai was initially set up by the Commerce & Industrie department Govt.of M.P. in the year 1970. The CSIDC has modernized these centers in many-folds with requisite facilities and technical personnel to tune – up the technical up date and demand of users of the region.

The main objective of Testing Laboratory is “To encourage the quality culture amongst the SSI units and great emphasis on the quality of the products of SSI Sector” . The activity of testing facilities, being provided to SSI units is vital to them for up gradation of the quality of their products.

This laboratory is situated at Industrial Area, Chhawni Chowk,  Bhilai which is about  12 km from Durg city. The land area of the laboratory is measuring about 2 Acre and constructed Area is about 15000 Sq.ft. which is sufficient for exiting facilities as well as for modernization/up-gradation of testing facilities of this centre.

This Lab is well equipped with wide range of testing facilities in the field of Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical.

The laboratory is full filling vital testing need of various industries, contractors, Government & Semi Government Departments & reputed industries. The Testing facilities available is being regularly utilized by many prestigious organization like, Indian Railway, Central Public Work Department (CPWD),  Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Electricity Boards, Maharastra Electricity Board, Rajasthan Electricity Board, Bihar Electricity Board, Gujrat Electricity Board, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL),  Power Grid, Rail India Technical and Engineering Services (RITES), MECON, Director General of Supplies & Disposal (DGS&D)  All India Radio & many others.

 Ever since its establishment, laboratory has always strived to meet the expectations of its customers. With the hard work and dedication of its work force, we have come a long way. Our customers have reposed their faith by giving even greater opportunities to serve them by repeating orders for even higher quantities. As a result of this we are being approached by new customers regularly.


* Chemical Testing Facilities:

(A) Determination of Chemical element like Carbon, Sulphur, Phosphorus, Mangenese, Silicon, Nickle, Chromium, Molybdenum, Vanadium, Copper etc. In Angle, Beam, Channel, Round, Iron & Steel Castings, Pig Iron & Alloy’s Steel etc.

(B) Galvanising Testing of Wire, Plate, Nut & bolt, Stay set Earthing wire etc.

(C) Staining test of Stainless Steel Utensils.

(D) Testing of Alum, Naphthalene, Acid etc.         

(E) Testing of Non ferrous Cu, Al, Zn, Pb, etc.

* Mechanical /Physical Testing Facilities:

(A) Tensile, Bend, Hardness, test of Angle, Channel, Beam, Plate, Steel  Casting, Cast Iron, Tor Steel, Alloy’s Steel etc.

(B) Load Test of Joints, Staysets, Welding Joints etc.

(C) Tensile, Bend, Impact and Microstructure test of Boiler Plate.

(D) Dump/ Compression test of rivet material.

(E) Tensile, Bend reverse Bend, Torsion & Wrapping test of wires.

(F) Proof load of chain & wire rope.


 
* Civil Material Testing Facilities:

(A) Crushing strength, Water absorption, Density test of Bricks.

(B) Compressive Strength of R.C.C. Cubes.

(C) Crushing, Impact, Abrasion, Grading, Specific Gravity, Water  Absorption test of metal.

(D) Grading & Fineness Modulus test of sand.

(E) Tensile, Bend test of reinforcement steels.

(G) Transverse test, Abrasion test and water absorption of cement concrete flooring tiles.

(H) Impact test, water absorption and crazing test of glazed tiles.
