  • Iron ore from the Bailadila mines in the state is considered to be among the best in the world in terms of quality.
  • During 2012-13, Chhattisgarh ranked fifth in India in terms of the value of minerals produced, with 6.9 % share. During the same period, the state’s mineral production increased 18.6 per cent, the second highest among all states after Rajasthan.
  • Chhattisgarh is the only state in India that produces tin concentrates.
